A mountain hotel built over the remains of the planet's first interspace port, where old freight infrastructure survives beneath a modern corporate gathering place.
Before it became a hotel, the Matter-Port was a working interspace port. Cargo arriving from orbit passed through the mountain complex, and sections of its old freight rail remain preserved beneath the modern floors.
The site now hosts the Matter-Port Foundation Gala, drawing corporate executives, security details, donors, and rivals into rooms built over the industrial history they prefer to commemorate from a distance.
